Common MoviePro - Pro Video Camera App Problems and Troubleshooting Steps

Android, iOS, or macOS operating system users may encounter a problem where an app will display a black screen for a few seconds before crashing, with or without an error message. However, there are a few methods you can try to fix this issue:

  1. Sometimes, this problem may be caused by a temporary loading issue. To fix this, go to the recent applications menu on your phone, usually accessed by the first left button, and close the app that is experiencing the issue. Then, re-open the app.
  2. If that doesn't work, try doing a hard reboot of your iPhone, iPad, Mac or Android device by simultaneously pressing and holding the "Home" and "Power" buttons for up to 10 seconds, then release them and hold the "Power" button until the screen turns on. After that, try opening the app again.
  3. If none of the above solutions work, another option is to wait for the phone battery to drain and turn off automatically. After that, charge the phone and turn it on and try opening the app again.
  4. If the problem persists, you may need to uninstall and re-install the app. Re-installing the app will restore all settings.
  5. If the app still does not work, you can try installing older versions of the app.

Version 8.7.1 22 February 2023

- Critical Bug fix for Pause/Resume recording New in Version 8.7: • Apple Watch Support: The companion app automatically gets installed on paired Apple Watch. Simply use it as a Watch Remote to control MoviePro camera on iOS. • A change in 'Camera Switching while Recording behaviour: The newer generation iOS devices(2018 and above) support MultiCamera recording. MoviePro app supports Multicam preset and 4 recording formats (Picture in Picture, Split Screen, Two Files, and CamSwitch). A MultiCam preset with CamSwitch format provides zero delay camera switching while recording. The legacy implementation of switching cameras in MoviePro has noticeable delay while switching cameras. It's use is therefore discouraged. But keeping in view of older devices that do not support multicam, we have provided a setting to still enable the legacy Camera Switch while Recording in the settings menu. Please also leave a 5 star rating on the AppStore if you like MoviePro. (Recap) What is new in MoviePro v8.0+: • ProRes recording on iPhone 13 pro/iPhone 13 pro Max models. Along with 10 bit HDR option, professional videographers using iPhone 13 pro models can also use 10 bit ProRes422 codecs in four flavors -- ProRes, ProRes(HQ), ProRes(LT), ProRes(Proxy). Each of these differ in bitrate with ProRes(HQ) providing highest bitrate (~200 Mbps for 1080p@30 preset, ~700 Mbps for 4K@30 preset). Only 256 GB & higher models support 4K resolution with ProRes, the 128 GB models only support ProRes for only 1080p@30fps preset. Due to high disk space consumed by ProRes videos, it's advisable to offload videos directly from the app to computer using iTunes File sharing, or using AirDrop from Files app. • Clean HDMI video feed on external display • iOS 15 compatibility In the settings, user can enable 'Clean HDMI Feed' setting and then get the video preview mirrored on external display without UI elements. Setting this to OFF would default to the usual behaviour of mirroring the entire app screen on external display..
