Sky Tonight just got a fresh update to make your stargazing sessions even more exciting.
- You can now track Great Red Spot transit events right in Sky Tonight.
- In the Photo Editor, pick any photo from your gallery and overlay an accurate sky map.
- “Visible Tonight” now highlights all bright satellite passes so you never miss a flyby, and we’ve also made various fixes and improvements under the hood.

To meet your (and our) expectations, we keep updating Sky Tonight. With this update, the following major features were added:
+ Landscape orientation — get the most out of your device’s screen.
+ Partial remake in the Calendar. There is now a 3D Moon model that reflects the true size of the Moon and the actual shadow position on it as seen from your location. We also added new control gestures.
We also added:
+ Automatic notification of object passes;
+ New DSO visualization modes;
+ Custom time zones;
+ Dynamic font size;
+ Wikipedia links for space objects;
+ Improved localizations.
